The Chicago White Sox beat the Houston Astros to earn a spot in the American League divisional round against the Cleveland Guardians. The Guardians won the AL Central by a single game, which earned them a bye. Meanwhile, the White Sox had to travel to Houston, where they beat the Astros in both games they played.
The entire White Sox-Guardians series will be broadcast on TBS and truTV. Each game will also act as a lead-in to the series between the New York Yankees and Tampa Bay Rays. The winners of those two series will meet in the American League Championship Series.

White Sox-Guardians head-to-head this season
The White Sox won the regular-season series 7-6, and that turned out to be the difference in the standings. The Guardians won the last two games they played in September at Progressive Field.

The White Sox’s last trip to the ALCS was in 2024. Their most recent trip to the World Series came in 2016, but they haven’t won it all since 1948.
