Vanderbilt QB Diego Pavia makes NIL announcement amid season

Vanderbilt quarterback Diego Pavia (2) celebrates their victory over Auburn after the game at FirstBank Stadium in Nashville, Tenn., Saturday, Nov. 8, 2025.

I’m sure everyone expected the Vanderbilt Commodores to be one of the best teams in college football this season. Last season, the Commodores finished 7-6 and were led by the play of transfer quarterback Diego Pavia.

Pavia has become a star in Nashville in his two seasons with the program. This year, the Commodores are 8-2, with a great chance to add another win this weekend as they take on the Kentucky Wildcats.

Vanderbilt has more than a win over their neighbors from the north on their mind. There’s an actual chance that the team can make the College Football Playoff.

Yes, we live in a world where Vanderbilt and the Indiana Hoosiers are making a college football postseason run. As a fan of the aforementioned Wildcats, it makes me a little ill.

Still, I can’t hate on the Commodores that much. It truly is cool to see a team that no one expects to be good sweep the nation. The heartbeat of the team is Pavia, and it appears the team is making sure its star has everything he needs on the NIL front.

Vanderbilt quarterback Diego Pavia celebrates with Xavier Swallows after defeating Auburn in overtime at FirstBank Stadium.

On Friday, the Commodores star shared an Instagram post about his new partnership with Placemakr Premier SoBro.

“Nothing better than having family in town for gamedays. Placemakr Premier SoBro is the spot to stay in Nashville!” Pavia wrote in his caption on the post.

Pavia has been one of the darlings during this college football season. Earlier this season, comedian Theo Von and Pavia linked up after a Commodores game, and it appeared the comedian may have won a date with the Vanderbilt star’s mother.

What A Season

Does any of that sound like a normal college football season to you? Oh, it doesn’t? Pavia’s time in Nashville is going to be looked back on as fondly as the Johnny Manziel years. All that’s left to do is get the Commodores into the playoffs.
