VIDEO: David Ross Gets Carried Off Field After Winning World Series in Final Game

Chicago Cubs catcher  David Ross, easily the most beloved member of the team, was pressed into duty during Game 7 of the World Series as Jon Lester’s personal catcher. After making a throwing error and taking a rare two-run wild pitch to the head, it appeared Joe Maddon’s move had backfired. But Ross responded by blasting a solo home run to center field in the sixth inning to open the Cubs’ lead up to 6-3.

A few hours and several life-changing events later, he was a world champion yet again. His teammates showed their massive appreciation for his veteran leadership by interrupting an interview to carry him off of the field.

Living in some feel-good Disney movie must be nice. Like a lot of Chicagoans, Ross has probably had to pinch himself a few times to make sure all this really happened.

But it did. It finally did.
