Jersey Mike's - Arm of the Slicers

A lot of pop culture tropes to love are at work in Jersey Mike's latest ad. You've got Danny DeVito and who doesn't love Danny DeVito? You've got a silly training montage. And you've got "Eye of the Tiger", which somehow continues to make everything better. This damn song is 41-years old and it remains iconic and immediately lets you know that someone means business.

It's hard to decide if the fact that this is a parody is good or bad. We obviously don't have enough songs about making sandwiches, but should we really be messing with Survivor to make that right? Ethical conundrums like this is why it's so hard for ad executives to sleep at night.
