Scott Kazmir Traded to the Houston Astros
By Jason Lisk

The Houston Astros are full-on buyers as we head into the July 31st deadline, making the first big move before the non-waiver deadline. Susan Slusser was first to report the deal.

The Astros will send RHP Daniel Mengden and C Jacob Nottingham to the Oakland Athletics.
Kazmir gives Houston two top left-handed starters, joining All-Star Game starter Dallas Keuchel. It also will create intrigue as to whether David Price will now be traded from Detroit now that Kazmir has been dealt. Houston was another rumored location for Price, but that would be off with this move.
