Russell Westbrook finished with 39 points, 14 rebounds and 11 assists Thursday night vs. Phoenix, but the Thunder fell to the Suns 117-113 in overtime.

The win moved Phoenix to within 1 1/2 games of OKC for the No. 8 spot in the Western Conference. Anyways, late in the third quarter Westbrook walked to the bench and left teammate Kevin Durant hanging for a high five. This probably isn’t all that big of a deal. Westbrook’s head was down as he marched to an open seat on the bench. Durant, who missed the game and was in street clothes, also stuck is hand out a little late.

It’s an isolated, instantly forgettable moment in a series of thousands during the long, 82-game season … but since every moment of every game is now Vine’d for all eternity, it’s something that might get mentioned again down the road.

Pity the poor Thunder beat reporter who brings this up, if at all, given the two player’s increasingly prickly attitudes toward the local media in recent weeks.
