Referee Pete Morelli Announces Pass Interference on Cowboys, then Says There Was No Foul

Pete Morelli announced that Anthony Hitchens had pass interfered with Brandon Pettigrew. Then, bizarrely and without explanation, he announced that there was no foul on the play. Hitchens did seem to commit the penalty, as there was contact and he never turned around to look for the ball.

Also, Dez Bryant came out on the field to yell without a helmet on, and was not penalized.

Former head of officiating Mike Pereira said that he felt this was pass interference, and reasoned that the lack of proper communication between the referees may have stemmed from the fact that the crew has not been working together all season. This controversial sequence will be discussed until the end of time if Dallas winds up winning this game.
