It’s been almost exactly a month since Peyton Manning walked off the field after winning a Super Bowl. The deadline for Denver to guarantee his salary for 2016, or release him, is Tuesday. According to Chris Mortensen, we will get Manning’s answer on his future tomorrow, and he will retire. Last week, we saw some buzz that he might not retire–that he loves playing the game–but this seems the most likely outcome as Denver is almost certainly ready to move on if Manning forces their hand, and it’s not clear what the market would be for the soon-to-be 40-year-old.
