By Jason McIntyre

Pat Summerall, one half of the greatest NFL broadcasting team ever, has died, according to the Dallas Morning News. He died at 82, just a few weeks shy of his 83rd birthday.
Summerall and John Madden were broadcast partners for 22 seasons on CBS and Fox calling NFL games. Nobody has announced more Super Bowls than Summerall, who has called 16.
[UPDATE: This is the first time Summerall and Madden got together, in 1979.]
[UPDATE: Here’s Summerall doing the CBS intro to an Eagles/Giants game in 1986. Nobody did it better.]
