Jay Glazer was a guest on Highly Questionable this afternoon on ESPN. The Fox Sports NFL Insider didn’t disappoint, providing hosts Dan Le Batard and Bomani Jones stories about getting into fights with Peyton Manning and Ben Roethlisberger with cameos from Chuck Liddell.
The questioning eventually turned toward Glazer’s stint as a stand-up comedian in the 1980s. Glazer called hecklers “Twitter [expletives] before there were Twitter [expletives]” which provided ample opportunities for someone in the production studio to use the “beep” button.
From there he relayed a story (begins around the 3:15 mark of the video above) about running into a Twitter troll in real life at a charity event, which began when the person boldly proclaimed that Adam Schefter blocked him on the 140-character social media service. The troll then cursed out Glazer for his reporting in the Patriots Spygate scandal. Glazer questioned “Why would you ever say that to a grown man?” then essentially inferred to the troll that he’d drop him if nobody else was around.
Glazer ended his story saying, “Don’t ever ever ever tweet something that you would not be willing to say to someone alone behind 7-Eleven. Bam. Done deal. It was great man.”
Twitter, as always, remains the best and the worst.
