Desoto County High School Basketball Player Attacks, Tosses Referee [Video]
By Jason McIntyre

A Desoto County (Fla.) high school basketball player, unhappy with being assessed a technical foul and ejected (1:25ish mark) from a game against Port Charlotte last night, shoved and then attacked the referee, tossing him to the floor like a ragdoll. There are no details yet on the player’s name, but we’ll provide updates as soon as they become available. I called and spoke with Desoto County athletic director Jarrett Zolkos this morning, who declined to name the player because he wasn’t sure if the kid was 17 or 18. Zolkos added, “I’ve never seen anything like this.” [Hat Tip to Carl Bleich of the Fort Myers News-Press & SWFL Hoops]
