Colin Kaepernick Blasts Hillary Clinton Over Emails, Calls Donald Trump "Openly Racist"

Colin Kaepernick was the NFL story over the weekend, and none of it changed when he met the media Sunday. Three years ago Kaepernick was on top of the football world, guiding the 49ers within one play of a Super Bowl; now he’s Public Enemy No. 1 after refusing to stand for the National Anthem because this country “oppresses Black people and people of color.”

Here’s a snippet of what the backup QB told the media Sunday:

Does the election year have anything to do with timing?

CK: It wasn’t a timing thing, it wasn’t something that was planned. But I think the two presidential candidates that we currently have also represent the issues that we have in this country right now.

Do you want to expand on that?

CK: You have Hillary who has called black teens or black kids super predators, you have Donald Trump who’s openly racist. We have a presidential candidate who has deleted emails and done things illegally and is a presidential candidate. That doesn’t make sense to me because if that was any other person you’d be in prison. So, what is this country really standing for?

Well, then. Kaepernick sure is doing a lot of talking. Are we going to see action? That’d be a step in the right direction. [Quote via Niners Wire]
