Bundesliga Goalie Knocked Out By Soccer Ball to the Head

Lukas Kruse, the goalkeeper for Paderborn, was probably knocked out during a Bundesliga match on Sunday. Kruse took a pointblank shot to the head on a ball that came off the foot of Leverkusen’s Stefan Kiessling. Kruse hit the ground and didn’t immediately get back up. Meanwhile, the ball was mercifully sent out of bounds by Leverkusen. Since soccer’s concussion protocols are either outdated or non-existent, Kruse was allowed to shake off the cobwebs and remain in the game.
