Media Musings: Here’s LeBron NBA reporter Brian Windhorst, ESPN’s latest hire, talking more about his move to the WWL – “LeBron’s people never trusted me. They still don’t trust me. They don’t want me there because they know they can’t control me. If you look at the big stories that are done on LeBron they are written by GQ or from Vogue, or people like that they can control.” Windhorst is taking a lot of flack for following LeBron to Miami, but career-wise, he’s totally making the right call. He’s closely covered LeBron longer than any reporter on the planet (high school and the NBA; we’re guessing about 10 years), and he’s setting himself up to be the go-to authority (like Sam Smith on Michael Jordan) on a player who couldbecome one of the greatest in NBA history.
