Aaron Rodgers Toys with Russell Wilson: "I think God was a Packers fan tonight"

Aaron Rodgers appeared to poke fun at Russell Wilson after the Green Bay Packers’ victory last night. The victorious quarterback responded to a postgame question about his team’s preparation process by saying, “And then getting help from God. I think God was a Packers fan tonight, so he was taking care of us.”

The backstory here: Wilson has been very open with his faith, going so far as to claim that God set up the Seahawks’ dramatic NFC Championship Game win last season. Rodgers took a different stance in a radio interview a few days after the comment.

“I don’t think God cares a whole lot about the outcome,” he said. “He cares about the people involved, but I don’t think he’s a big football fan.”

So Rodgers either had a religious revelation between the end of last season and the start of this one or he was delivering a subtle jab at his Seattle counterpart.
