The Green Bay Packers will be without one of their top playmakers for the long term.
According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, the Packers are placing wide receiver Jayden Reed on injured reserve because of a neck injury. He will undergo neck surgery and remain out for the rest of the season.

Reed got hurt against the New York Jets in Week 2 on Sept. 20. He then missed Thursday’s game against the Atlanta Falcons before the latest news came out on Wednesday, Sept. 30.
Reed compiled four receptions for 24 yards and no touchdowns before going down with the injury.
What does this mean for the Packers?

The Packers will need their other top playmakers to step up even more. That includes wide receivers Christian Watson and Matthew Golden and tight end Tucker Kraft.
Watson already has 17 receptions for 284 yards and four touchdowns through three games. Golden is right behind him with 15 receptions for 253 yards and one touchdown. Kraft has pulled in nine receptions for 106 yards.
The Packers also need to turn things around because they are 1-2 to start the season and looked awful against the Falcons last week. They’re set to play the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in Tampa on Sunday.
Kickoff will be at 1 p.m. ET on Fox. Chris Myers and Jonathan Vilma will have the call.
