Brian Daboll was the head coach of the New York Giants from the start of the 2022 season until the time he got fired after a 2-8 start last year. This season, he’s the offensive coordinator for the Tennessee Titans. Daboll and the Titans traveled to the Meadowlands in Week 3 and things went poorly.

After fumbling the opening kickoff the Titans went three-and-out on their first five possessions of the game. They didn’t get a first down until late in the second quarter. Though they did start to move the ball in the second half, it didn’t matter. Tennessee turned the ball over on downs to end a 12-play drive in the third. Then they scored an actual touchdown to cap a 13-play drive in the fourth. Just the offense’s fourth touchdown drive of the season.

The Titans did come close to one good play in the first half when quarterback Cam Ward hit Wan’Dale Robinson in the hands on a deep pass. Alas, the ball was punched out by the Giants’ Jevon Holland. Daboll’s reaction, shared by NFL Network on X, said it all.

Brian Daboll reactions

You don’t have to be a Giants fan to appreciate that reaction. Most people probably assumed with Daboll up in the coach’s box we wouldn’t see him showing his emotions, but the cameras up there are invaluable for reaction shots.

Back when Daboll was patrolling the sidelines that might have been the kind of thing that made him throw a headset, per Fox Sports.

Now that he’s not a head coach, he can settle for a double facepalm.

The Titans came into the game with the second-worst offense in the NFL, having gained one more yard than the Minnesota Vikings through two games. The only teams they had outscored so far this season were the Chargers, Dolphins and Steelers, and they didn’t play any of them.
