No, Aqib Talib Shoving Jordan Norwood After Muffed Punt Wasn't Leadership

Aqib Talib is one of the NFL’s best cornerbacks but it doesn’t seem like the veteran DB is much of a teammates. Sunday night during the Denver Broncos’ overtime loss to the Kansas City Chiefs, Talib took out his frustrations on one of his own teammates after an unfortunate play.

Jordan Norwood moved up to field a punt in the fourth quarter, only to see the ball bounce off his facemask. The Chiefs recovered it and Talib was not pleased with his teammate. As a clearly frustrated Norwood walked off the field, Talib shoved him towards the sidelines.

Check it out:

That was the second punt Norwood muffed on the night. In the second quarter he dropped one, but was able to recover it. Still, was that shove really necessary? Does Talib think Norwood doesn’t already know he screwed up?

Talib has been called a locker room leader and a charismatic guy who people want to follow, but that kind of reaction isn’t leadership. Yeah, Norwood let his team down, but he didn’t need to be reminded of it and shoved by one of his team’s best players. He needed to be picked up.

The Broncos wound up falling 30-27 in overtime.
