Kate Upton Defends Twitter Rant About Cy Young Voting

Kate Upton made waves last week when she ripped baseball’s voting system for the Cy Young Award on Twitter. Upton’s fiancee, Justin Verlander, finished second in Cy Young chase behind former teammate Rick Porcello, despite garnering more first-place votes. He rant included a tweet that claimed Porcello didn’t really win.

She defended her remarks on Wednesday:

Upton is right that it’s ridiculous some voters turned in their ballots early. Her rant could have been a bit better worded, especially since it was expletive-laded. That said, she does have a point.

Porcello and Verlander both had excellent seasons and both have cases for the award. That said, it certainly has to be frustrating for the Detroit Tigers ace to have garnered the most first-place votes and still come up short.

Oh well, he gets to come home to Upton every night, I’m going to go out on a limb and say he’s not suffering too badly.
