Bas Rutten: Former MMA Fighter Documents the Time He Gave Himself Stitches

Bas Rutten, the legendary former MMA fighter who retired from UFC in 1999 and is one of the current hosts of AXS TV’s Inside MMA, shared this video over the weekend in which he gave himself stitches. The incident, which actually happened in 2008, apparently happened when his wife dropped a six-pack of non-alcoholic (which he emphasized) beer and a glass shattered and cut the fighter’s leg.

Not wanting to endure a night in the E.R., Rutten took matters into his own hands. Literally. The video isn’t for the faint of heart.
