Zack Greinke and Carlos Quentin went head to head after Greinke hit (what looked to be unintentionally) Carlos Quentin in the shoulder on a 3-2 pitch. The benches cleared. Greinke stuck his shoulder in to stop Quentin’s charge, but that may not have been the best decision. According to Jim Bowden, GM Ned Colletti has said that Greinke has a fractured left collarbone as a result of the brawl.

According to ESPN Stats & Info, Carlos Quentin has been hit a MLB-leading 42 times since 2011. Zack Greinke has now hit him with a pitch three times. Dodgers manager Don Mattingly, upset about losing one of his star pitchers, has already said that Carlos Quentin shouldn’t play until Greinke can pitch again.
