That team, like a lot in this tournament, need to retreat to the baby conference they came from, post those 25 unimpressive wins a year, collect their well deserved 12 seeds and maybe squeak in to the Round of 32 by upsetting a 5. I’m tired of these obviously inferior teams being shoved down my throat as though they’re a contender. Every bracket I filled out I had UNLV and New Mexico bounced in the first round – I don’t trust kids in those wimpy conferences playing to how they look on film against real competition in March.

I don’t think this will be another 100 loss year. There’s going to be some bright spots. I think between Humber, Pena, Bedard, and Ankiel at least one of them will pay off as a free agent signing. Pena or Humber are my picks to have rebound seasons.

Chris Carter fascinates me. Can’t wait to see him in Minute Maid staring down the Crawford Boxes. I’m also interested in Nate Frieman but its starting to sound like he’s going to be the odd man out, unless San Diego is willing to work out a trade so that we can stash him in OKC for awhile.
