Ronaldinho Playing Keepy-Uppy With a Little Kid is Pretty Darn Cute
Here’s Ronaldinho playing keepy-uppy with the son of one of his Atletico Miniero teammates. The kid has some game and enough chutzpah to make Ronaldinho wait while he does his bicycle kick. Were we to “Mike Mayock” his performance: he has some impressive ball skills but needs to add a little bit of sand in the pants. [Video via 101GG]

I’ve played this game damn near my entire life and I have never heard it referred to as Keepy-Uppy. I knew I’d learn something today.

@Stabbin: I was in the same boat until I started hanging out with British ex-Pats four or five years ago. Hate the name though.

I think that’s the British term. Wasn’t sure what the American term was (if there is one substantially different) and didn’t feel like looking it up.

Cut him? Go somewhere else for more dough? He seems to have lost a step or 6 in the games I’ve seen.

I can’t see the video so I had to look up Keepy-Uppy, apparently officialy spelled Keepie Uppie. Here’s the world record:
The men’s record is held by Dan Magness of England, a 25 year old professional freestyler, who kept a regulation football aloft for 26 hours using just his feet, legs, shoulders and head; he completed the feat – which took place in Hong Kong, in June 2010.
God Daaaammmmn!

I’ve always known it as “juggling”, but I think “keepy uppy” is pretty standard across Europe.

Juggling is always what I’ve known it to be.

Heh, ball skills

That wasn’t even the commercial they were shooting. He started juggling in between shoots and I guess they decided to use it.
