LeBron Keeps Getting 2014 Opt-Out Questions, and Keeps Ignoring Them. Get Excited, Cleveland
LeBron James can opt-out of his Heat deal in 2014, and for about a month now, people have been talking about the NBA’s best player going back to Cleveland – he’ll only be 29 – next summer. LeBron has dodged the questions about “going home” to play with budding superstar Kyrie Irving. We wrote about this in February, and the story will come up every time the Heat play the Cavaliers (like tonight!).
The media asked LeBron about Cleveland and 2014 again today, and …
LeBron getting questions about whether he wants to come back: “Right now I’m focusing on right now.”
— Ethan J. Skolnick (@EthanJSkolnick) March 20, 2013
So he’s focusing on the 23-game winning streak? LeBron, come on, man, the Heat are double-digit favorites on the road tonight. Nobody cares about the streak. Where are you playing in 2014?
A lot of you are misreading LeBron’s answer. Really, he was just trying to get through the questions. No news today. — Ethan J. Skolnick (@EthanJSkolnick) March 20, 2013
Ah. Got it. So, how long will LeBron just try to “get through the questions?” The clock is ticking, June 2014 is only 14 months and a few days away!
Whatever you do, two pieces of advice: Don’t do anything Dwight Howard did don’t repeat the Decision.

Coming back to Cleveland after a 3 peat in Miami. Sounds extremely reasonable.

Jebus, was that Florida Gulf Coast coach’s wife post such a big hit that it needs to be teased three times in a row in “From Our Network”?

TV PITCH: Justified High, featuring teenage versions of Boyd, Raylan, and Ava back in the late 80s doing geometry and screwing around in detention and so on and so forth. Make it a cartoon and air it after Archer.

Personally the record book of Trey will reflect the Heat’s winning streak ended a few games ago when the Magic were screwed out of a win in Miami.

I’m picturing this recorded in a wall lined with notebooks like Spacey’s apartment in Seven.

March 20th, 2013 at 2:03 PM
Phil Dawson is awesome. Can make 55 yarders, accurate, good outdoors, delivered some great on-side kicks; Kickoff length is not the greatest, probably below league average there.
March 20th, 2013 at 2:03 PM
good catch, vlad.

March 20th, 2013 at 2:07 PM
true, but he got much better the past two seasons. in 2010, it was rare he’d find the endzone but was comfortably hitting it last year.
March 20th, 2013 at 2:09 PM
Maybe because the kickoff moved up two seasons ago.
March 20th, 2013 at 2:10 PM

Yes. The key is he’d take air off his kicks and try to line drive them through the end zone b/c of the moved-up starting place.

right nowthis PB&J.Actually, I would enjoy LBJ and Kyrie on the same squad. It would save James from needing to be a facilitor year after year. And, Kyrie and Speights need some help.

Cavs have good young talent but they have some terrible stretches. They’d need a KG type to light a fire under them. They are trying really hard to tank out to clsoe this season though.
March 20th, 2013 at 2:29 PM
Lebron doesn’t need an elite point guard on his team, he’s a better passer than pretty much all of them anyway.
March 20th, 2013 at 2:30 PM
And will probably get Antawn Jamison again instead.
March 20th, 2013 at 2:31 PM
I kid because I care, Vez.
March 20th, 2013 at 2:32 PM
I can’t stand KG but would love him on my squad. He is definitely not a cancer to his team or the league.

Vez, Bell’s Two Hearted is one of my favorite beers. Beer advoctae rated it 100 out of 100 I believe. Not easy to find in PA but one bar and one distributor carry it.
Currently (well not at work, but you get the idea) drinking through a case of Flying Fish Redfish. A very tasty beer in it’s own right, also weighing in at 7% ABV.
March 20th, 2013 at 2:53 PM

I’ve said it a 100 times on here. Two Hearted is just the best. Headed to BDubs tomorrow night to watch some games. Been a while since I’ve been, but I expect to be disappointed by the beer selection.
