FIFA Corruption? Jose Mourinho Claims FIFA Rigged Coach of the Year Vote

Real Madrid coach Jose Mourinho skipped the Ballon d’Or ceremony in January. When asked why in a recent interview, he accused FIFA of fixing the vote for Coach of the Year. Spain coach Vicente del Bosque won the award, with Mourinho finishing second and Barcelona’s Pep Guardiola finishing third.

Am I sorry for not having gone to the gala? No. It was the right decision,” Mourinho told RTP television on Tuesday in excerpts from an interview.
“One, two or three people called me saying they had voted for me but the vote showed up as cast for somebody else. So, I decided not to go,” he said.

Such a claim is obviously without merit. Who would dare accuse FIFA of not respecting the integrity of an electoral process?

anyone else think this makes it sound like he was the recipient of the award? if it read “FIFA Corruption? Jose Mourinho Claims FIFA the Rigged Coach of the Year Vote” it wouldnt be confusing.

Ballon D’or ceremony is the award ceremony for all of soccer. They give out trophies to numerous male and female teams/plyers. World’s best player also gets a trophy called Ballon D’or. Messi won that one, and Abby Wambach won the trophy for best female player. Although, I’m not sure if that trophy is also called Ballon D’or or not. This is all so confusing.

Made two CL final appearance without those three. Would’ve won last year if Robben wasn’t a choking motherfucker. Plus, he will get a open checkbook to go after anyone he wants. Contrary to some unnamed La Liga sides, we don’t have to cook the book to prove our financial might. Bayern is flush with legit cash.
