Is it a fair criticism of Klinsmann that Germany succeeded in 2006 in spite of rather than because of his management style?

Also remember that Germany did not have to qualify for that World Cup. They were also seeded for the tournament with the top teams on the other side of the draw.

Read this story a couple times.
Sounds like equal parts whiny old players (unnamed sources) and Klinsmann’s capriciousness with formation and personnel.
Team was great last year, but really no meaningful games (WC, Gold Cup, WC Qualifying final round).
Even Hell froze over in Azteca Stadium too.

Making noise in 2018 should be the goal. Anything beyond qualifying for 2014 is gravy.

The best option seems to be replacing Martin Vasquez as Klismann’s top assistant.

I agree with this. Also, its gonna be interesting who the next captain is with Bocanegra being phased out. Hope its not Jones who seems to be a yellow card waiting to happen.
