this is not a knock on htown or scripty, well maybe scripty, but htown said he hung around college after getting a math degree so he could play pickup ball and teach tennis and hang out with friends. how is that a great story, make htown a man of mystery, or any different than stories we all can tell?

each of us has a lot of great interesting stories, and that particular story is banal at best. i bet htown has many many more intersting stories than that one

Clubbing/bar hopping was never my scene. Now that we’re older, we do a lot of cookouts at the house to watch the game or something like that.

In my circle of friends, the biggest drunks are those that do the whole “we just have people over for dinner” thing.

young folks, do not let this kind of crap scare you. you marry the right one, and have a positive attitude yourself, marriage and multiple kids is no reason for life to stop being fun. it’s different fun

Same. Went out last Thursday night for a concert (free tickets), had like four or five beers, and was tired all day at work Friday. First time I went out on a weekday in ages. I don’t miss it.

Those that have kids are surprisingly still socially active. Helps that our idea of fun is bunch of people getting together in someone’s house and just hanging out playing video games or just talking. Everyone has moved on from their clubbing phase.

I guess just save enought to maybe put a dent in that total amount, and pray they can get some scholarships and then it’s found $$$.

So…SOOOOO true. Being hungover with a little one running around the house is a sick form of punishment. It happened once to me and most likely won’t happen again.

If you don’t go to college today, you’d better be your own boss. My cousin is in the boat now. He doesn’t know what he wants to do, isn’t a great student and felt he was wasting his parent’s money (mature conclusion). But he’s now realizing that the alternative to not getting a degree isn’t so great either.

I’m guessing this is sarcasm. Based on my current income, if I had to repay $1,300 each month for student loans, I would seriously think about fleeing the country.

Yep. Best friend married. Having a baby next month. Don’t get to see him often and he lives really close. Still get together to play pickup though. As far as going out on weekends to bar? No chance now

That’s how it goes. I see my daughter for about 80 minutes a day during the week. So when the weekends come, I want to hang out with her. Then going out at night is tough due to finding a sitter. Life changes with a kid for sure, but I’ve never been happier, too. So it works out.

no hitting except the ass (spanking) for me. too much damage can be done to the face. no i’m not a better parent/person than you, just my POV
