Selection Sunday: Final Bracket Projection With Louisville, Gonzaga, Indiana, and Kansas as Top Seeds
The final bracket projection is here, with the conclusion of the SEC, Atlantic-10, and ACC Championships. Congratulations to Miami for a wonderful, historic season, and to Mississippi for removing any doubt and winning a title (I think they were in anyway). St. Louis also had a great year in winning both the Atlantic-10 regular season and tournament title, and I suspect they will get rewarded accordingly.
With the only game remaining between Ohio State and Wisconsin, my bracket is done. It is set up for a possible swap of New Mexico and Ohio State as the 2 and 3 seed in the Indianapolis region if necessary. Wisconsin is locked into a 4 seed.
My #1 Seeds: Louisville (top overall seed), Gonzaga, Indiana, Kansas
My last five teams in: Boise State, California, Oklahoma, Middle Tennessee, La Salle
My first five out: Tennessee, Virginia, Kentucky, Southern Miss, Iowa

Anyone else want Ole Miss in the play-in game but me? What? That’s impossible? Man. You’d think a real fan would know that. I’d guess most do.
March 17th, 2013 at 4:21 PM
Watching Davis and Gottlieb bicker used to be slightly entertaining and now it is just awful TV.
March 17th, 2013 at 4:25 PM
But who’s going to play there instead? MTSU? Tenn? Gross. Think about the huge draws for those first games.
March 17th, 2013 at 4:27 PM
When is the last time an ACC team won they regular season title (outright no less)and the conference tourney and didn’t get a #1 seed? I’m not a Miami fan, or even an ACC fan, and the ACC certainly wasn’t the B10 or even the Big East this year, but has this ever happened?
March 17th, 2013 at 4:28 PM
Lisk -
KU has already played Belmont and Temple this year. Would the committee put two priors in the same bracket?
March 17th, 2013 at 4:29 PM
Michigan State doesn’t deserve the best 2-seed in my opinion. Miami should be in Zags bracket if they are kept off the 1-line.
March 17th, 2013 at 4:33 PM
The answer is never. I can live with Miami not being on the one-line, but again that should make them the best 2.
March 17th, 2013 at 4:34 PM
Jerry Palm has Miami getting a 3-seed.

Lisk, Tennessee is going to met in over MTSU due to SOS. Wait and see.
Also, Is it me or has college dance team talent improved to the point you wonder if these girls are actually created in a lab ala Wierd Science?
March 17th, 2013 at 4:37 PM
If it’s me, I’ve got Maryland over MTSU.
March 17th, 2013 at 4:38 PM
The S-curve isn’t exact. It doesn’t automatically work that way…the committee often considers a geography advantage more important than who they play. I’m guessing they don’t view sending Miami to LA for the regionals as very rewarding, regardless of whether the Zags are there (who prolly aren’t the lowest #1 seed anyway, so the argument might be moot).

Are you basing this on Ohio St. and Wisconsin? If so, yes.
March 17th, 2013 at 4:39 PM
If that’s the case, Utah needs a better lab. All kinds of ugly.
March 17th, 2013 at 4:43 PM
You are the last soul still beating the Maryland drum. ESPN doesn’t even list them as being on the bubble anymore. I don’t even think they are going to get a #1 seed in the NIT.
March 17th, 2013 at 4:44 PM
I could see that. If UT gets left out we have no room to complain. Do any of these things and UT is probably a lock: Split with Ole Miss, Split with GA, Score 40 fing points against Gtown, Beat Bama in a must win. Just one of those four.
Its UT basketball though so who cares.
March 17th, 2013 at 4:45 PM
He’s also got Miami over Kansas for a 1 b/c “ACC>Big12″ and Ole Miss playing in the first 4.
March 17th, 2013 at 4:47 PM
Basing this on SEC teams, KC. Just slobber worthy every one. Havent seen Ohio St/Wisky.
/changes channel to Big 10 Championship game.

Indeed. Of all the horrible things I’ve said about Mizzou, calling their dance team hideous is not one of them. They have always been gorgeous. I’m pretty sure that was why they got in the SEC. They weren’t going to accept anything less than top shelf dancing whores.

again, i think the committee will take MTSU, but I would take Maryland.
March 17th, 2013 at 5:01 PM
Ok. But would you take them over Kentucky? Virginia? Etc. It’s not Maryland vs. MTSU.

There ought to be a rule against teams being eligible if they are two games under .500 in conference.
March 17th, 2013 at 5:02 PM
That’s a league that has their priorities straight.
I probably will not be getting an interview for the job I submitted a resume for yesterday. I copied and pasted it out of my sent box and was rewording it for one of the jobs I submitted it for today and realized I included an extra “a” in a sentence in my cover letter. Sounded like a mouth breather. Go fuck yourself Hotmail spell check. It’s all your fault.
/It’s my fault
March 17th, 2013 at 5:03 PM
There are five minutes left and it is 43-41. I’m not sure I could watch Big Ten basketball full time.
March 17th, 2013 at 5:04 PM
That’s like some of those teams from conferences that clinched a spot with a 15-20 record. I know they take conference champs but still. If that’s your record, you’re not a true champion in my book.

Haha, was gonna say this game finally caught up to the ACC halftime score.
How are you Kansas fans feeling about your chances of landing Wiggins?
March 17th, 2013 at 5:13 PM
I don’t understand. Shouldn’t this be four? Everything has to be in fours. At least make it “My last four teams in plus one-fourth of the next four in”
March 17th, 2013 at 5:14 PM
For using Hotmail? Yes. I’m not sure I could hire anyone with a hotmail address.
March 17th, 2013 at 5:18 PM
Deus – Shit. That’s a crapshoot. Kentucky, Duke, and FSU are in the mix last I heard.
I’m sort of ambivalent about the one and done kids. It seems like all the one KU had didn’t add anything to the team or program that wouldn’t have already been there. McLemore is the first great one and he’s been at KU for two years. He bought in. Those other guys just stay in school from August to March and are gone after the tourney.

Recent examples being Josh Selby and Xavier Henry. I think there is another one I’m missing.

I’ve been looking into places up in NY and VT by where I was born. I don’t have many limitations on what I’d take if I find something around here. But as for up there, I look at like this. I already have a shitty dead end job here, I’m not relocating for another one. So I’ve been pretty selective about what I apply for. It was for a cheese factory that makes 640 lb. wheels of cheese. Could’ve been my one opportunity to actually be talking about cheese when I say fat stacks of cheddar. Oh well.
That’s pretty fucking dumb if you’re serious.

I suspect Wiggins will wind up at FSU.
March 17th, 2013 at 5:38 PM
Florida is more deserving of a 1-seed than IU. And any of the teams in the play-in games over UK? Look, I know the Cats have been horribly inconsistent since the Nerlens injury, but we still beat Mizzou and Florida since he went down. Let me know when Oklahoma or Cal has does something like that w/out their best player.
I know for a fact you’re leaving UK out based on everything that’s happened since NN’s knee blew up, and that’s bullshit. We played 20-plus games before that happened, and just discounting them as meaningless is pathetic, especially when you look at some of the teams you selected over them. You all love Pomeroy, but yet, you completely ignore the fact that UK has a higher rank than ANY of the teams you’ve listed in your play-in games. You’re just going to ignore that in favor of an 8-game sample size? Nonsense.
That being said, I do NOT expect the committee to include UK. NIT, here we come.
March 17th, 2013 at 5:40 PM
huh? Do you even know who I am? Aren’t you the one who started saying all this shit about me last time that made no sense, too?
March 17th, 2013 at 5:40 PM
Hey, don’t get pissed at me… I told you to do it in word and attach it.
March 17th, 2013 at 5:43 PM
That’s how I did it. What’s that got to do with the fact that you said you weren’t sure you could hire someone using a Hotmail address? If that’s the kind of criteria people use in their hiring process, then fuck them.
March 17th, 2013 at 5:44 PM
Attached resume, included cover letter in the body of the email. The grammatical error I made was in the cover letter, not my resume.
March 17th, 2013 at 5:46 PM
It was joke. I hated Hotmail and stopped using it 10 years ago, I view it the way a lot of people see Yahoo.
In reality, I doubt the two ‘a’ thing is gonna kill you, but how would Hotmail spell-check an attachment?
One thing I like about Word is that the grammar check is actually very good. I write a lot of stuff with words Microsoft has never heard of, and it still catches a lot of stuff.
March 17th, 2013 at 5:49 PM
Gotcha. Does remind me of this though…

“nah I’m sure the Xerox machine caught a few”
March 17th, 2013 at 5:53 PM
And actually I don’t know that Hotmail even has a spell check. They highlight stuff red if it’s spelled wrong or weird town names but it doesn’t catch grammatical shortcomings. It wasn’t two a’s in a row. I included one before and after a word, and only needed the latter. I normally have an eye for that kind of shit. Slipped through the cracks. Let’s hope those half french speaking folks realize how many errors they make on a daily basis and grant me a free pass.
March 17th, 2013 at 5:54 PM
Good luck.

Dude. No clue what talking about. I don’t talk shit on anybody here. And the Apple joke is that a guy with a Hotmail/MSN address should be ignored by Apple’s HR if the guy is too dumb to change his email account.

Well. I recognize that address. This explains why Soused is unemployed.

What’d he do quit or something? I thought I remembered him talking about pulling hidden stashes of bottles out of his drawers during work. There’s my answer. They found his stash. They were always after his lucky charms.

Oh, I have no idea if he is employed or not, but I could see his email address being either youfuckingcunts@gmail.com or rapeandpillage@imail.com.
