Neil Watson of Southern Miss Hit an Unbelievable Buzzer-Beater to Force Overtime Against Memphis [Video]
Southern Miss trailed Memphis 62-56 with 31-seconds remaining in regulation. Jonathan Mills hit two layups on forced jump shots to pull the game within 2 while Memphis missed the front end of two consecutive one-and-one situations. That set up Neil Watson for a Tyus Edney-ish buzzer-beating layup to tie the game and send it to overtime.
Update: Memphis ended up winning in overtime, 91-79.
Just wanted to post this sequence somewhere. A monster block on one end, a bad outlet and turnover on the other. This would be Southern Mississippi’s final lead. Memphis went on to score on their final 8 possessions.
