Steven Jackson Signs With the Atlanta Falcons
Steven Jackson has signed with the Atlanta Falcons according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter. This was Atlanta’s original plan when they cut Michael Turner, but last night it looked like Jackson might sign with the Green Bay Packers. In the end it worked out for the Falcons and Jackson. Jackson has rushed for 1,000+ yards in each of his last 8 seasons while the Falcons actually play in the postseason every now and then. The Rams have won 22 games in the last 6 seasons while the Falcons have won 23 games in the last two seasons.

Good signing for ATL and good for Jackson, who I always enjoyed watching.

Soon to be 30-year-old RB isn’t exactly in the catbird seat. He’s an upgrade over Turner, but that says little. I guess I need to see the $$ first. If they can get out of the deal after two years without taking a big cap hit I’ll be fine with it. I’m not sure Jackson signing means all that much though.
/was hoping to see them take a RB in the 2nd or 3rd.
//still have no one who can rush the passer

Mike Smith just added three more pages of 4th and 1 plays to the playbook

Using the term “play” a bit loosely there.

After paying his dues in STL the guy deserves a chance to enjoy a home playoff loss.

The Rams have won 22 games in the last 6 seasons while the Falcons have won 23 games in the last two seasons.\
Now that the offense is led by Isaiah Pead and Chris Givens things are going to turn around.

maybe, maybe not…SJax offers WAY more than turner ever did in the passing game. for two years, he’s def worth it. plus, never discount motivation for getting a taste of winning after languishing in fucking STL for his entire career. i could def see a lil corey dillon resurgence.

OT…bad news for the rest of the tour if tiger’s swinging like this and only getting better. wow…that’s nothing like the swing that looked legit painful the past two seasons.
March 14th, 2013 at 4:48 PM
Coming from a Lions fan this is fucking rich. Absolutely rich.
Hope you’re right, but I worry about that defense. They need pass rushers like whoa.
March 14th, 2013 at 4:48 PM
I’d like to place a wager that if they do draft an RB somewhere in that rage, he’ll put up better numbers than Jackson

Friday’s waitresses in the Atlanta area just screamed in terror.

If anyone cares, the standoff with the guy who shot 6 people here in upstate NY yesterday ended this morning. FBI and State Police sent in an FBI dog. Guy shot the dog, popos lit the guy up. Boom Dead.

They just now realized what the Allen Iverson bankruptcy means for them?

How much was JMac touching himself while writing that Gus Johnson blowjob?
March 14th, 2013 at 4:51 PM
I think the Falcons are looking to use almost every draft pick on a defensive player. And I agree with that.
March 14th, 2013 at 4:52 PM
I’d be surprised if the $$ or the length is bad for ATL. Outside of WR (Wallace/Harvin/Amendola), I am surprised at how contract terms have been favoring teams/owners during this signing period.

If they spent the first three picks on DEs I wouldn’t at all be disappointed.

It’s not our fault we don’t feign competitiveness during the regular season.

That cut move he puts on it makes it look violent. Then the ball lands softly on the green.

I’m resigned to that fact until Syracuse proves differently

I’ll be your bookie man. Easy $$$.
March 14th, 2013 at 5:06 PM
Rememeber, he only hit like 56% of fariways at Doral. Not to take anything away from his iron game and putting, both of which were great, but if he’s only hitting 56% of fairways come Augusta and the Opens, he’s in trouble. Doral just had no defense.
March 14th, 2013 at 5:08 PM
Meh. nothing compares to the feeling of an 0-16 season.
March 14th, 2013 at 5:09 PM
Not sure if that’s worse than not making the playoffs in 14 years.
March 14th, 2013 at 5:11 PM
Are we still using championship game appearances as ammunition when telling haters to suck it?!

Butters how do you like not signing jackson?
March 14th, 2013 at 5:12 PM
RIP police puppy. I know it is trivial when compared to the fact that innocent humans were also lost, and I’m not trying to troll, but it always makes me really sad to hear about dogs dying in service to humans. Dogs are the best and just want to please us, and are very brave when called upon. Fuck the asshole that did this, I wish they would have set him on fire.
March 14th, 2013 at 5:17 PM
he holed himself up in the basement of a building all night like he was setting up an ambush. Thank goodness 24 hours of hell is over. Now it’s time for the families to grieve.

This is a good move but Steven Jackson doesn’t rush the passer or make Matt Ryan’s throws less arm punt-y.
