Ryan Fitzpatrick Released by Buffalo Bills
What do the Bills think about Ryan Fitzpatrick? Well, you don’t need to eavesdrop on a two way call with another GM to know that they are not thrilled with him. Today, Buffalo released the bearded rifleman after he refused to re-negotiate his contract. The same thing happened to Nnamdi Asomugha in Philadelphia.

Ryan Fitzpatrick is now available, and perhaps can be signed by a team who then replaces him with a third round rookie (after all, no one has actually seen Matt Flynn and Fitzpatrick in the same place).

Geno Smith to the Bills

I dunno, a starting NFL quarterback getting cut when Tavaris Jackson’s the best alternative they have is kinda interesting…they’ll take Matt Barkley now and ease his concerns with assertions that the team will be in LA soon

I’d actually feel bad stealing the team from Buffalo. If it’s Jacksonville, on the other hand, we might as well be getting an expansion franchise.

Just a reminder you had Fitzy as the sixth best QB in the first 8 weeks of 2011.

Surely they go after Flynn or Chase.
March 12th, 2013 at 4:34 PM
I think Mark Sanchez at #17 is the far more egregious ranking
March 12th, 2013 at 4:39 PM
and Matt Brokenback at 11. oh what heady days those were.

Jets/Zona/Jags should inquire into Mr. Fitzpatrick’s services.
Bills have to be drafting a QB. Hope it works out better than Losman.

these are the 2 shittiest cities (by far) with professional franchises, right?

Jets regretting signing Garrard with all this great QB talent coming on the market.

bearded rifleman
I would love for this to be my nickname.

yes, but hockey doesn’t
March 12th, 2013 at 4:47 PM
Any professional franchise, or NFL? Because Sacramento and San Antonio want in on the discussion otherwise.
Columbus is a fine town…if you can ignore the OSU worship.

Amazing to see a Fitz post without the word “Harvard.”
/Alabama State is the Harvard of southeast Alabama

jpq’s wife is going to have to fist him* extra hard tonight to make him forget about that contract.
*partly conjecture

Leave Buffalo alone…
We have 4am last call!
March 12th, 2013 at 4:51 PM
the GM who gave him a 6-yr, $59 million deal – $24 mil guaranteed … will he ever get a job again?
since that deal – 7 wins. 34 TDs. 32 INTs.
absurd.

I visited in 2003 and don’t recall this. I do however recall not being allowed into a bar because my PA license said “under 21 until 9/21/2001″. Nevermind this was 2003 and I was clearly old enough to get in, my license said “under 21″ and that’s all that mattered to that bouncer.

no love for Door County during those 2 weeks in the summer when it is hospitable?

Yes – starting QB getting ready to start the 2nd year of a deal. Yes – very much so.
March 12th, 2013 at 4:55 PM
That isn’t Green Bay friend, you can tell once the smell of the paper mills is no longer in the air
March 12th, 2013 at 4:57 PM
No. No love at all. That place still sucks. I’d rather go spend some time in Northern Michigan (Lower Peninsula).

Detroit and Oakland battle it out in the other bracket.

Depends where you were… by law, establishments in the county can stay open til 4am. Some places won’t because it isn’t cost effective. Bars downtown, Allen, or Elmwood districts seem to stay open for the most of the night.

Buffalo is nowhere near as bad as Cleveland or Columbus or Jacksonville.
March 13th, 2013 at 12:14 AM
It’s a pretty cool city as long as you stay roughly between Elmwood and Main St. When I moved to Boston I was disappointed at the nightlife – bars close early at 1AM, drink specials are outlawed, late-night dining options are miserable, and everything is overpriced.

As a Jags fan – we definitely have our problems. HOWEVER – we were ranked 20th in the league in attendance last year…with 0 local blackouts. Move to LA why? So the city that failed to hold an NFL team twice already can have a 3rd try? In the immortal words of Ricky Williams “For Who For What?”
