Reminds me of a buddy I used to play with frequently. I once saw him looking for his ball in the woods behind an elevated green take a new ball out of his pocket, drop it, kick it several times into a manageable lie before saying “I found it!” I told him I saw his entire charade, and he still denied cheating… I don’t understand it. It’s not like there was anything on the line. He would routinely shoot in the high 70′s when he played alone, but I never saw him break 90 when we played together (even while cheating).

THis describes one of my golf buddies to a tee. He hits the ball a mile, but with zero accuracy. He plays a lot, but has only been playing for 3-4 years now. I usually shoot 88-95 and I always smoke him when we play. He was playing by himself one day and sent me a picture of his scorecard with a 77 on it. I called BS, but he won’t admit that he cheated. He takes 5-6 mulligans every time we play and if i don’t count his strokes, he will almost always miscount. It’s quite amusing.

That’s my father-in-law. Hasn’t been playing long. Would shoot 130 if I made him play by the rulebook, but he insists on reloads, counting them, forgetting about hitting it OB. That sort of thing. Claims he shot 94 the other day and figured it all out. It’s insufferable.

100 times this. I love playing with my bro in law, he’s a 7. I always have better rounds when I play with him. Unfortunately he lives in AZ and I live in PA.

My best round of the year last year was with 3 randoms, all 5-10 handicaps. I shot 85, they all broke 80.

HUGE difference. i remember the first round i played with a legit +handicap…was a totally different game.

You’ve found a golden ticket. My wife won’t play. She won’t even come to the course and ride along with me.

before my gf got prego she loved coming to the course with me and driving the cart and drinking beers. she would hit a couple balls once in a while, but if the weather was nice, she actually encouraged me to play just so she could come with. it was a nice balance.
