Nnamdi Asomugha Cut by the Philadelphia Eagles
Nnamdi Asomugha, the overpaid, overrated cornerback of the Philadelphia Eagles who was burnt repeatedly last season, has been cut.
What a disaster of a free agent signing that was. Fortunately, many teams need cornerbacks – as many as four could go in the first round of the draft – so he won’t have a problem getting a job.

We would love him in Detroit.

Pretty sure they’re getting D-Hall.
March 12th, 2013 at 3:57 PM
Minnesota needs a new CB
March 12th, 2013 at 3:57 PM
overpaid, overrated
Overpaid perhaps. But overrated?
March 12th, 2013 at 3:58 PM
and Tony G is back for Atlanta
/still wont win Super Bowl
March 12th, 2013 at 3:58 PM
This guy gets his own post but not Winfield. I see how it is.
March 12th, 2013 at 3:58 PM
Minnesota needs a new everything
So getting Nnadmi, certainly wouldn’t hurt.
March 12th, 2013 at 3:59 PM
Odds are against them, but ATL is in a good spot to compete for one. Schedule is gonna be tough though.

This is slowly but surely getting into “Hey guys, did you know Yunel Escobar was traded?” territory.

Good. Now demand Hillbilly and Suh restructure. Then sign Nnamdi too.

Running back and O-line are in pretty good shape

Shut up and let me exaggerate.

I’m sure it will pop up right before Stan Musial’s tribute post.

It’s not real easy to judge his performance considering the guys the Eagles had playing safety were completely awful.
I can’t argue with the “overpaid” portion of the criticism.
March 12th, 2013 at 4:03 PM
sweet.
he was thought to be the top 2 CB when he signed with PHI. Then he sucked and his rating dropped considerably, he’s probably properly rated these days.
March 12th, 2013 at 4:03 PM
Didn’t you want him on the Jets J-Mac?
March 12th, 2013 at 4:04 PM
Come to miami
March 12th, 2013 at 4:05 PM
in 2010, sure

I agree in part with both of these statements.

No money for Nnamdi once they overpay for Reggie.
March 12th, 2013 at 4:07 PM
welcome to the browns, nnamdi.
/dreaming
March 12th, 2013 at 4:07 PM
do you drive your ferrari off road? because that’s what philly was doing with nnamdi.
March 12th, 2013 at 4:07 PM
Mike Wallace to Dolphins?
March 12th, 2013 at 4:07 PM
I’d love him at 3.5m, gonna hate it at 5M.

I love the guy but am still hoping the Falcons go get a TE with a little more speed and athleticism (i.e. younger).
March 12th, 2013 at 4:09 PM
I could have sworn that in that first year, the Eagles moved him out of his natural position and turned him into some sort of hybrid DB/”rover” type, and it went about as well as you’d expect. last year he just kind of lost a step. I’d still sign him, depending on the price.
March 12th, 2013 at 4:10 PM
I have it on good authority that had he gone to the Jets, he’d have been part of the best CB tandem of all time.

he only needs to run 5 yards

Martellus Bennett signs with Bears

I’d still sign him, depending on the price.
I think the front offices of two-thirds of the teams in the league would do this. If the Texans didn’t have so many UFA’s to consider I’d want them to look at putting him on the other side of Johnathan Joseph.
March 12th, 2013 at 4:21 PM

That’s all he can run.
Many other TEs stretch defenses significantly more than he can.

That was “checkdown” joke
March 12th, 2013 at 4:27 PM
We talkin’ Flacco in here?
March 12th, 2013 at 4:29 PM
Ahhh – yes. I kinda felt like Ryan got “passed” the check-down-charley tag this year with Julio.

Agreed.
I had the shot…there was no danger…so I took it.

Does Nnamdi tackle or is he one of these old wimpy CB’s that avoids contact like the plague?
