I like a good ground fight..as long as they are actually going for submissions or trying to advance their position to ground and pound…the lay and pray fighters are becoming a thing of the past…

I’ll agree to that. I’ve seen some exciting ground fights. Lay n Pray fighters used to take advantage of the whole “stay busy” rule though. Just move around enough so the ref couldn’t stand them up. I don’t think points should be awarded for “controlling” your opponent. Couture was the king of that. Just took his opponent to the fence and pinned him for 2-3 minutes at a time.

I’d say so. Either by humping or jabbing himself into a decision victory. One thing is guaranteed, he will “apologize” to the fans for not giving them a knockout, even though he didn’t push the action.

When they stay on their feet (rarely) I can enjoy it. When it gets down to two dude’s on the ground trying to snap each others’ arms I lose all interest.
