Kaspars Daugavins Ridiculous Shootout Attempt Potentially Costs Senators a Win [Video]
Ottawa Senators forward Kaspars Daugavins attempted a ridiculous shot during a shootout against the Boston Bruins and potentially cost his team a win. Daugavins placed the puck under the tip of his stick as he skated toward the net where he would attempt a 360-spin shot that was blocked easily by Bruins goalie Tuukka Rask. The Bruins won the game 3-2.
Daugavins has attempted and successfully completed the move before during a game in the AHL.

You know, I’ve been really trying to be nice to y’all, but this strikes me as idiotic. It took a pretty good save to stop it. How is it ridiculous, or specifically “cost senators a win”. You say yourself it worked before (obviously the element of surprise has a big role in that, it won’t work if everyone does it).

What the hell are you talking about? This play had me at the edge of my seat. Are you really faulting this guy?

Admittedly don’t know much about hockey. I was told on a shootout the puck must be moving forwards at all times, so is a spin move just an exception or have I once again been fed blatant misinformation?

And by shootout I meant penalty shot

To clarify: you wrote a post about hockey without knowing the rules about hockey? You’re going to fit in great at this website.

I would post the link that I finally found on my third google attempt on phrasing this question, but last time I tried to post links it didn’t go well for me.

Yeah, this was the article I found which said there’s a spin-o-rama provision.
