Chicago Blackhawks Regular Season Points Streak Ends at 30, But The Heat Extended The Win Streak to 17
The Chicago Blackhawks streak is over. The Blackhawks lost in regulation for the first game in the regular season since March 6, 2012, losing to the Colorado Avalanche, 6-2. Chicago started the season 20-0-3, earning points in their first 23 games. One Colorado Avalanche fan tried to remind the ‘Hawks that they still have one streak remaining. Though, I’m not sure if that is confirmed.
Meanwhile, the Miami Heat clinched a playoff spot by beating the 76ers for their 17th consecutive victory. The Heat’s streak is currently tied as the 12th longest in league history. Â The untouchable record of 33 straight wins belongs to the ’71-’72 Los Angeles Lakers. The Houston Rockets had a 22-game win streak five years ago. On Sunday the Heat will face the Indiana Pacers with a chance to move into a tie for the 7th longest streak ever. That won’t be easy.
The Pacers are the last team to defeat the Heat this season, beating them 102-89 in Indiana on February 1st. The Pacers also beat Miami 87-77 in Indiana on January 8th. Tomorrow will mark the final regular season meeting of the top two teams in the Eastern Conference this season.
