Meth, I should also mention this was for a job in a very desirable city regionally and listing an attractive pay range(which I didn’t get but still managed a 20% bump).

After reading the Bradley thread, it may just depend on the company and the hiring manager. It worked for me.

This may be a dated opinion, but I applied to a job off Monster.com(almost 5 years ago) and definitely included a cover letter/intro in addition to my resume. I got an interview, got the job and cleared 20% more.

Show a touch of originality/effort to distinguish yourself and hope for the best. I didn’t do much more than show how my past experience matched with their preferred credentials. Nothing cute or fancy but just direct.

I would provide a concise bit of info in the body. There is a chance that the resume is just downloaded and printed and the text in the body is ignored but oh well.

But in all seriousness, I need some opinions. If applying for a job where they want you to submit a resume via email, would you simply send an email with your resume attached and nothing else? Or would you provide background/additional information in the body of the email?

Holy shit, punch their ticket now! I think we have taken the credit for mid majors WAY too far. Does anyone actually think a team like 9 loss Boise State is better than say Kentucky? Why do we need 4 or 5 MWC teams in the dance. There are a couple good teams that have made the conference look good so all of a sudden the rest of the league rates higher. Dumb.

Zips were competitive against Oklahoma State (lost in OT), beat Penn State, and lost a close one to Detroit.

This is exactly why the Jay Bilas' of the world go crazy selection Sunday. Penn state is a notable win for Akron but doesn't mean dick for the Minnesotas or Iowas. Makes a lot of sense.
