Lionel Messi: Solid Gold Foot Statue Will Only Set You Back $5.25 Million
Soccer March 6th. 2013, 7:10pm
Japanese jeweler Ginza Tanaka has created a solid gold statue of Lionel Messi’s left foot. Weighing in at 55 pounds, the statue is worth about $5.25 million. It comes with a certificate of authenticity from the Lionel Messi Foundation, lest you think they swapped the cast for some mere mortal’s foot.
Personally, we’re save our prodigious blogging coin for the 100-pound gold bust of David Beckham’s pelvic area in a pair of briefs. Bidding is going to be steep.

Duffy is Coop? This is way more surprising than Shelby being Drew.

Gold is (high estimate) $1600/ounce * 16 ounces/pound * 55 pound = $1.4 million
So $4 million of that markup is just in sculpting a foot, which could/should have been done by cast and mold, not exactly hand-carved.

You’re being way too technical, WWoS. Lots of sentimental value here.

Can somebody help me out with Adobe Flash Player? Yesterday, I threw in the towel on Internet Explorer and went to Google Chrome. IE made this site (and about all others, especially Blogs)virtually unuseable.
So, I am using Chrome and its Heaven and Hell difference. Pages loading immediately, no popups, etc. Later on a video I wanted to watch was up so I reluctantly enabled that add on.
Immediately, I am getting pop ups on every click with every site.
What am I missing here?

TNCowboy – You were using IE? Dang.
I don’t mess with Chrome.
I use firefox. if you go into preferences, you usually can have options there.

In chrome, there should be an option to block popups

Chrome seems to be effing up MLB Gameday now, I had to disable flash. I also think Google uses it to spy on you, so I may be going to Firefox.

I mistakenly opened IE instead of Firefox a couple days ago. Thought I’d just go with it. Didn’t work worth a shit and finally froze after 10 minutes. Hard to believe the organization that gave us that and the Zune are still in business.

Safari works good on my IPhone too. Might try that and Firefox.
Thanks!

Chrome was blocking previously friendly sites today. I’m thinking it is a temporary thing.
