He had an unbelievable amount of cd’s and dvd’s from people that left shift in cars. Soembody once left an original birth certificate in one.

I found at various times: handguns, knives, porn, money, weed, coke, cds, sunglasses, clothes, jewelry, cell phones, you name it, it’s been left.

One time I was cleaning a car to rent to someone else, and in the trunk, among fast food bags with trash in them was a black garbage bag that was tied shut. I assumed it was trash, and never opened it, just threw it out. The guy who left it came in a few days later wanting to know what we did with his garbage bag of work uniforms. He was astonished that I didn’t open a black garbage bag that was tied shut to make sure it was trash. “What if it was money” was what he kept asking me. At that point, I told him I wasn’t willing to look through the trash to see if it was money or anything else. He ended up calling the regional manager who refunded him for the inconvenience.

Moral of the story, if you ever rent a car, complain about everything. If the rental agent won’t give you a discount, ask to speak to their manager. If you get to the regional manager you are almost guaranteed to get your money back. My regional managers all said the same thing: If it gets to me without being resolved, you’re going to eat the cost.

was just readig the passages in Men At Work about why MLB doesnt just fund wood bats for college. that was 1990 and revenue was a bit smaller then. problem now might be not enough good wood to provide all ncaa teams, and if you limit to D1, then the stated purpose–for scouting–is diminished. espeiclaly when many HS kids get drafted. they gonna fund HS too?

Vandy is in the East, but either way, they are solid. I think the Hogs will be ok once conference starts, they usually do this every year.

Hey Arkbadger – I know it’s early in the baseball season but … damn. Hogs bats have disappeared. Good news is your pitching is lights-out – still < 3 runs per game I think.

yeah, I responded yesterday but it was too late. same shit as always, seriously this is the 3rd or 4th year in a row where the pitching is great but they can’t hit at all. I’m glad they are playing a solid OOC schedule, as opposed to someone like Miss. St., but damn. now they have San Diego St. coming in this weekend, and with Gwynn as the manager I am assuming they can hit as well. I went to a lunch a week before the season started and Van Horn really talked up the bats and how they were much improved.
