Fifteen photos of Yao Ming getting increasingly sleepy at a meeting.
Yao is like the fat kid in 3rd grade. He has to sit in the back of the room because no one can over/around him. And he needs the 8th grader’s desk.

You can totally tell this was a ‘staff/student’ game, either that or it was some adult education school getting their a$$e$ handed to them…

A few years ago there were twin Texans cheerleaders named Larisa and Marisa. I once had to spend the day with them for work. That was a good day.
March 5th, 2013 at 8:34 AM
Seems like a lot of nice people in the video. I bet these are some upstanding people in the Tucson community, give of their time to help with the homeless, work at the food kitchen, etc. Shame to see them get in trouble for these minor indiscretions.

At the beginning of the Tuesday morning call, the nurse asked for paramedics to come and help the 87-year-old woman who had collapsed in the home’s dining room and was barely breathing.
Halvorson pleads for the nurse to perform CPR,
so she IS breathing, let’s try cracking her 87 year old ribs with chest compressions. That’ll save her. Don’t worry about the lawsuit potential, it won’t come back on me, the 911 operator. Just cave that old chest in while she’s breathing.

I had to provide some background for mgamaguche. Ladies and gentlemen, Larisa and Marisa

Anonymous Source: Cano, Granderson, A-Rod and Braun will all be suspended for failing PED test this season.

Maybe Granderson leaned into the pitch to break his foreman, to take him out of baseball for awhile, thus removing him from the PED spotlight?

So, at some point, is MLB just going to suspend each and every Dominican player?

Larisa is cute, but Marisa is gross. I would not have sex with Marisa. Sorry Marisa. You’re just too gross.
March 5th, 2013 at 8:45 AM
I had never looked at the Joe Bisceglie tweet… but I checked it out to see if he was just making a bet he could look really good at if it comes true.
Verdict: he seems pretty reasonable about it and expects the skepticism. I do have a hard time seeing A-Rod dumb enough to keep using PEDs and risk contract being voided.
Seems more like “news from 2011″ for a couple of those names, but I’m not gonna call it crazy yet.
March 5th, 2013 at 8:46 AM
Sorry for my laziness. To make up for it here’s a third set of twins that were Texans cheerleaders.

March 5th, 2013 at 8:48 AM
I guess, how stupid could Braun be to get away with clearly using once (he got off on a technicality… let’s not pretend he was likely clean) and make MLB look stupid, but keep using and think they won’t be out to get him.
On the other hand, most baseball players = pretty fucking stupid
March 5th, 2013 at 8:49 AM
That last set doesn’t compare with L&M, though. It was ridiculously difficult to concentrate with them just around me. But they wearing those damned cheerleading outfits, too.

Not shocked by this if it’s true. Although I really do like Granderson. He’s the only Yankee aside from Rivera that I don’t hate.

March 5th, 2013 at 8:59 AM
I imagine most 87 year olds in assisted living centers would have a DNR, right?
March 5th, 2013 at 9:00 AM
It was all about policy spence

I kicked a hole in wallboard when i was younger. My dad was so pissed.
March 5th, 2013 at 9:01 AM
Thank god I was able to refinance without an appraisal. Otherwise I would have been screwed. I imagine my house is worth 20% less than what I paid for it.
March 5th, 2013 at 9:02 AM
b) an 87 year old in an assisted living center probably doesn’t have much more to go
according to that story, she was in the “independent” living facility, not the assisted one, or the nursing home. That means she’s a spry old woman living in a retirement home, who dropped mostly dead, and eventually died. It’s hard to imagine smashing her chest down 20 times in one minute to kickstart her currently beating heart would have made a positive impact, though.
March 5th, 2013 at 9:02 AM
Thanks srod
March 5th, 2013 at 9:03 AM
That facility inbakersfield doesnt allow its staff to perform cpr. All they are allowed to do is call 911 and wait for paramedics.
March 5th, 2013 at 9:03 AM
Appraisers are absolutely useless, but so stupid they’re smart. Where else can you get paid $400 to show up at a house for 5 to 10 minutes, take a couple notes, and then prepare a cut/pasted report with tons of errors and make up a random number as to the value of the home that you in no way ever have to defend/revise.
The appraisal for our new home had so many mistakes/errors that I convinced the bank to refund my money. My favorite was that the house (which was built in 2006) had a kitchen “that had been remodeled about 10 years ago”.
March 5th, 2013 at 9:03 AM
I imagine most 87 year olds in assisted living centers would have a DNR, right?
sadly, no. Not even all people in nursing homes have DNRs. But those that don’t get their families hounded by social workers, so that people are allowed to die in peace (or pieces, if they explode)
March 5th, 2013 at 9:04 AM
I imagine most 87 year olds in assisted living centers would have a DNR, right?

March 5th, 2013 at 9:05 AM
Appraiser coming today for refi.
when he asks if you’ve done any work on the house, the answer is yes. And then say everything you can think of that you did.
If you say, not really, he doesn’t know to increase the value. And say what you’re hoping to get it appraised for, and then suck his dick.
March 5th, 2013 at 9:05 AM
Didn’t know that could happen career high.
Dirt i think we all get that cpr might not have helped but the controversy is/will be about the policy to not help
March 5th, 2013 at 9:05 AM
The blonde twins are the best.
Also, remember Lidsay P of the Ravens from a few months ago that JMac linked? She may be the most beautiful woman who ever lived.
March 5th, 2013 at 9:06 AM
Roeth… I thought about it but couldn’t find enough errors, and the banker wouldn’t go for it. Gotta use a diff lender or just stick with it.
Value actually went up in the last 15 months, 2.5%, but we were expecting more, and had some informal appraisals that suggested the work we did should be worth about 5%.
March 5th, 2013 at 9:06 AM
im well aware, but thanks.
March 5th, 2013 at 9:06 AM

Probably won’t spend more than 10 minutes at your house. Their jobs are made impossible by tons of new regs, but fuck appraisers
March 5th, 2013 at 9:10 AM
the controversy is/will be about the policy to not help
so you think if the lady had cut herself very badly, the woman wouldn’t have applied direct pressure? I think the policy just has to do with “heroic” measures to save these oldies, and the lawsuits that can/do arise from people who get their ribs broken by good samaritans with no legal obligation to maul them.
March 5th, 2013 at 9:11 AM

March 5th, 2013 at 9:12 AM
I showed him every little fucking thing we did. In the end, none of it mattered, because he compared it to a completely diff type of lot/house. And the way they calculate it from the comps screws you over if you have a bigger lot than the comp, because it gives you no value for it.
March 5th, 2013 at 9:12 AM
And ill slip him a mickey.

I don’t know how much leeway they have with their comps, though. I gather that you’re in a somewhat rural area away from town. Maybe there weren’t any/many recent similar sales?
One of my tennis teammates became an appraiser. (he ain’t too bright) It seems like he had to go through a very long schooling/apprenticeship to be fully licensed. It really doesn’t seem all that complicated.

March 5th, 2013 at 9:20 AM
just finalized a refi through a HARP program. We lost about 15% of the value from when we bought in 2008. It was a nightmarish process to say the least. Just delay after delay after delay from the lender. I finally shot off a nasty email to the CEO after yet another delay, and lo and behold the next day they got their asses in gear and finalized everything within a week. I’d like to think the email had something to do with it.
March 5th, 2013 at 9:20 AM
A nurse at a facility is an employee there to ensure the health and safety of the residents… not a Samaritan.
A doctor at a hospital doesn’t fall under good sam laws, and I imagine even if one is ‘off duty’, the standard is higher on what you’d be expected to do without causing harm.
March 5th, 2013 at 9:20 AM
I imagine most 87 year olds in assisted living centers would have a DNR, right?
Nope. People are ignorant about DNRs, DPOAs, and Healthcare directives.
Also, the daughter basically told everyone to get off the independent care facility’s case. She says they know what they signed when her mom moved in. Holy shit. Someone not blaming everyone else. It is almost like she isn’t American.

For me: the harder a salesman tries, the more I’m walking away. If you are that eager to sell it, it’s obviously a great deal for you. no, she was asking her to get someone who wasn’t in the employ of that independent living home who happened to be walking by on the street, which meant a wild goose chase.
You’re making one assumption (that there were good samaritans being beaten off with a stick) while I’m making another (that this nurse, bound by policy, felt her best move was to comfort a still breathing woman and wait for qualified help which she called).
But it’s not like they were on LaBrea Blvd, and this is a spry young lady whose heart just stopped. This is an old ass woman in a home who keeled over and began to die, fucking finally.

How do you guys save so much on the re-fi? Were your interest rates that shitty? Are you extending the term a lot? Does whatever HARP is kick something in? We barely saved much at all, except getting rid of PMI
March 5th, 2013 at 9:35 AM
I’ve replaced my furnace and AC in the past 2 years. Got a quote from Home Depot for the AC, they were twice as expensive for the exact same unit that I ended up getting installed by my local technician. I laughed at the estimator when he gave me the price.

With Matthews and Raji up after next season as well, I could see the latter being allowed to walk (or waddle as is his wont) if the dollars are too much
March 5th, 2013 at 9:37 AM
name spelling like that is a red flag. I’ve never met one that wasn’t insane.
March 5th, 2013 at 9:37 AM
Joe Flacco has the richest contract in NFL history just like Michael Vick got a hundred million dollar deal from the Eagles.
Mike Vick also got 100 million from the falcons, in imaginary contracts.
I think both Peyton and Brady have collected 100 million from one team, but not all in one contract, even though Peyton signed one 100 million dollar contract, or thereabouts.
March 5th, 2013 at 9:38 AM
I went from 5.5% to 3.25%.
March 5th, 2013 at 9:38 AM
Yeah Home Depot sucks for that stuff. I got a local guy, but now with the shitty appraisal, can’t afford to replace it anyway. Looks like a hot summer for me.
March 5th, 2013 at 9:39 AM
Probably because Obama.
funny. the other day i saw that there’s school board elections round here and wondered if i’d ever be interested in that. then i noticed that you have to show up to events and answer questions, so i’d have to know things. so i started imagining no prep and just trying to get by answering every question ‘because obama!’
i’d get quite a few votes
March 5th, 2013 at 9:39 AM
Mine went down about $400 monthly on a shorter term.
Our rate wasn’t bad when we got it, but we bought in 2008, and refi’d at almost 3% lower. When we bought originally my credit was still shitty, so we put the house int he wife’s name only. With the refi it’s in both names, so now I have a mortgage on my credit.
March 5th, 2013 at 9:39 AM
Oh. Gotcha.
March 5th, 2013 at 9:40 AM
Nice people.
March 5th, 2013 at 9:40 AM
How do you guys save so much on the re-fi? Were your interest rates that shitty? Are you extending the term a lot?
I knocked about 400 bucks off with the one i did last year. The one I had done two years prior raised the payment by more than 400, but shortened the term by 10 years.
I don’t know what interest rates these guys are currently getting, but they were selling them in the 2′s last year. Which means you’re paying way, way less interest than in the 4′s.
March 5th, 2013 at 9:40 AM
My opinion polls consist only of one opinion. Mine.
All right maybe I was hyperbolic. But the list is short on who I would put above her.
March 5th, 2013 at 9:40 AM
You can’t get 3.25 around here. Best you can do through a bank is 3.75 about, and 3.625 through some independent lenders if you want to deal with it being sold etc.
March 5th, 2013 at 9:41 AM
5 seconds seems awfully generous
March 5th, 2013 at 9:41 AM

highway robbery.
March 5th, 2013 at 9:41 AM
I knew we were getting a month off, but because of when we closed, we actually ended up getting 2 months off (refi closed last week, 1st payment due May 1.) I didn’t think about the escrow balance getting refunded, that would be a nice bonus.
March 5th, 2013 at 9:42 AM

how do you spell it then?

Every Lindsay I’ve known who spells it like that is attractive.
March 5th, 2013 at 9:43 AM
I went from 5.5% to 3.25%.
6.5 to 3.75. also was great to see both our credit scores are really high. wife gave me props bc i handle all the bills
our value went down about 60k from 2006, but we had/have enough equity that we’ve been nowhere near underwater. things were overvalued back then. it’s more of a psych gutpunch than anything, seeing a 270 purchase valued at 220
March 5th, 2013 at 9:43 AM
I showed him every little fucking thing we did. In the end, none of it mattered, because he compared it to a completely diff type of lot/house.
The three rules of real estate:
1. Location
2. Location
3. Location
4. Never own the most expensive house within a 3 square mile radius
March 5th, 2013 at 9:43 AM
Yeah – I know that’s 4 – the 4th one really doesn’t matter if you follow the first 3.
March 5th, 2013 at 9:44 AM
PMI is awful. And you are stuck with it for 5 or 7 years. We didn’t have enough for a big down payment, but worked our asses off on the house to build equity to re-fi out of PMI. But still got screwed by the appraisal, and need to come up with a lot of cash to close.
March 5th, 2013 at 9:44 AM

seeing her beat box sealed the deal for me.
I’ve never heard that one before. I’ll defer.
although i’m half-kidding about the beat-boxing there is a bit of seriousness. i mean you can find a hot chick just about ANYWHERE but a hot chick with a good personality can be hard to find
March 5th, 2013 at 9:45 AM
We don’t, is the weird thing. We have more land, but a smaller house. There are houses on tiny lots going for 25% more than ours. The appraisal was just weird.
March 5th, 2013 at 9:46 AM
Is L-End-Say here? Better speak up L-End-say. I ain’t playing.
March 5th, 2013 at 9:47 AM
All they care is sq foot, decks, etc… there’s not box on the sales comp worksheet for “subtract $50 for hole in the wall”. We re-painted the whole interior, replaced the carpet with the nicest stuff available, all the fixtures, toilets, etc… and it got us exactly $0.
Add square footage, or go fuck yourself.
March 5th, 2013 at 9:47 AM
We just got Paolo’d (given a high hard one) by our appraiser too. Identical house down the street sold last summer…ours is nicer in every aspect except the kitchen.
Taking all of this into account, he knocked $25k off of ours. They are the assholes that replaced their front lawn with gorilla hair. Fuck those people, and fuck the appraiser.

I’m surprised after staring at it he didn’t check down to Ray Rice’s contract

My kid punched a hole in the wall after he was told his ACL was torn.
We hung a picture over that hole for about 2 years until he got a buddy of his to come fix it for him.

March 5th, 2013 at 9:51 AM
My rate dropped about 3% with the HARP refi. I also got a credit to apply to closing costs and put some more money into it, so our principal on new loan was about 10K less than old loan. I hope I can make payments on this new loan for maybe 5-10 years. By then daycare expenses will have ended and I hope to get into a 15 year.

Hey Arkbadger – I know it’s early in the baseball season but … damn. Hogs bats have disappeared. Good news is your pitching is lights-out – still < 3 runs per game I think.
I went to watch FL Gulf Coast Univ trounce Mich last night – that's a really good baseball team. We might hear more from them in June.

Car Rentals: DO NOT RENT FROM ENTERPRISE. Google first “Enterprise” and “Discovered Damage Scam.” They will pick you up. They will rip you off.
March 5th, 2013 at 9:58 AM
we plan on staying in our house for another 5-7 years and then looking to upgrade. We’ve done a lot of work to it, new roof, new siding/gutters, upgraded the tile int he kitchen, new AC/Furnace. We’re doing the carpet and windows this fall. If we get lucky with our last round of IVF we might look to get out sooner, but we’re backwards in value for a solid 5 years so that might be tough.

unless you have an oil tank in there. Then you have an even harder job. But that’s a rural problem.
Also, we’re off of duct work at my house, thankfully.

I pissed in an Avis car once and they didn’t even notice, granted it was from the Philly airport so they might have been immune to the smell, never had a problem with Enterprise.
March 5th, 2013 at 10:00 AM
If you think Enterprise is the only one who will try that you’re crazy. No matter who you rent from, do a thorough walk-around with the agent, and don’t sign until you’re satisfied that all damage has been documented on the contract.

Only ever happened to me with Enterprise. They didn’t even notify me of the claim but went directly to my insurance carrier. When Safeco rolled over and paid – I dropped them too. $400. Enterprise sucks. Altho it happened on Long Island at Islip airport, so, wink, wink, fuggedaboudit.

March 5th, 2013 at 10:07 AM
yeah, I responded yesterday but it was too late. same shit as always, seriously this is the 3rd or 4th year in a row where the pitching is great but they can’t hit at all. I’m glad they are playing a solid OOC schedule, as opposed to someone like Miss. St., but damn. now they have San Diego St. coming in this weekend, and with Gwynn as the manager I am assuming they can hit as well. I went to a lunch a week before the season started and Van Horn really talked up the bats and how they were much improved.
March 5th, 2013 at 10:10 AM

Yeah – good call. They’ll be fighting with Vandy for the West title I’m sure.
Not sure if you noticed but uga is ranked 5th …. in the state of GA.
March 5th, 2013 at 10:13 AM
A friend of mine ran a rental car agency in Toledo. His office’s main work was through repair shops when people had extended work. He had some amazing stories on the people that trolled through there for cars. He had an unbelievable amount of cd’s and dvd’s from people that left shift in cars. Soembody once left an original birth certificate in one.
March 5th, 2013 at 10:14 AM

My daughter hit a deer back in November – $4k damage.
My wife just had it towed back to the body shop for the second time since the finished repair. There’s some kind of electrical problem they can’t find. Just great.
March 5th, 2013 at 10:15 AM
Vandy is in the East, but either way, they are solid. I think the Hogs will be ok once conference starts, they usually do this every year.
that is hilarious about UGA, considering they are usually decent enough. now cue Husker to come in and say that since it isn’t football no one gives a shit.
March 5th, 2013 at 10:15 AM
Van Horn really talked up the bats and how they were much improved.
maybe he actually meant the bats, not the players. new eastons
/how can you not hit in D1, with aluminum?

now cue Husker to come in and say that since it isn’t football no one gives a shit.
You can see right through my posts.
West title Yeah – I meant conf title. Ark’s one of those teams I just can’t hate on. Rather them than LSU or Miss St and my Auburn team is just weak all around.
March 5th, 2013 at 10:20 AM
how can you not hit in D1, with aluminum?
The bat still has to make contact with that quickly moving ball, you know.
They tempered the compression of the latest version so there’s less trampoline effect.

March 5th, 2013 at 10:22 AM
The only time to consider rental car insurance is if you don’t have full insurance coverage on your car. Your car insurance covers your rental car too.
March 5th, 2013 at 10:25 AM
for real.
Squawk I didn’t know you were an Auburn fan. I can’t stand LSU or Miss St., but damn they do it right down in Starkville for baseball. the left field lounge is good times.
I’ve got a story that is too long to tell that involves a double header in Starkville, me waking up in a dark, empty baseball stadium and a BAC around 0.30
March 5th, 2013 at 10:25 AM
Jsut go to wood already.
was just readig the passages in Men At Work about why MLB doesnt just fund wood bats for college. that was 1990 and revenue was a bit smaller then. problem now might be not enough good wood to provide all ncaa teams, and if you limit to D1, then the stated purpose–for scouting–is diminished. espeiclaly when many HS kids get drafted. they gonna fund HS too?
March 5th, 2013 at 10:26 AM
I found at various times: handguns, knives, porn, money, weed, coke, cds, sunglasses, clothes, jewelry, cell phones, you name it, it’s been left.
One time I was cleaning a car to rent to someone else, and in the trunk, among fast food bags with trash in them was a black garbage bag that was tied shut. I assumed it was trash, and never opened it, just threw it out. The guy who left it came in a few days later wanting to know what we did with his garbage bag of work uniforms. He was astonished that I didn’t open a black garbage bag that was tied shut to make sure it was trash. “What if it was money” was what he kept asking me. At that point, I told him I wasn’t willing to look through the trash to see if it was money or anything else. He ended up calling the regional manager who refunded him for the inconvenience.
Moral of the story, if you ever rent a car, complain about everything. If the rental agent won’t give you a discount, ask to speak to their manager. If you get to the regional manager you are almost guaranteed to get your money back. My regional managers all said the same thing: If it gets to me without being resolved, you’re going to eat the cost.
March 5th, 2013 at 10:27 AM
Olivia Munn helps with that.

FUCK YOU RENTAL CAR AGENCIES
This.
Now it’s the “loss of use” threat if you turn down their insurance. And you need a receipt for gas that proves you refilled within 10 miles of the airport if you don’t by their full tank service. Here for spring training in Phoenix and there’s like three gas stations within 10 miles of PHX and their auto rental center, which has the slowest shuttle service and rudest shuttle drivers anywhere. Leave at least 45 min. to return your car and get back to the terminal.
