Nick Young Presents … the Afro-Mullet?
It’s the season of especially strange haircuts in the NBA, valiantly led of course by impressively inactive center, Andrew Bynum. Our latest present though comes courtesy of his teammate, 76ers guard Nick Young, who has opted for a fade with some sort of special mullet surprise.
It’s a timeless approach up front to go along with a raging, yet seemingly organized party in the back. And I can’t believe I’m about to say this, but I kind of like it.

Get your gif machine working TBL, JJ Barea was just clearly yelling “you’re a fucking pussy, a fucking pussy” at Ray Allen. It was funny.
It was a pretty weak flagrant 2 call.

They gave that a flagrant 2 yet serge ibaka gets a F1 for a nut punch. Good job, NBA fucks.
Interesting story…commenter section is full of assholes as usual

It’s called a shag

Benjamin knows. First thing I thought of when I saw the picture. It was the style in the ‘hood way back when.
March 4th, 2013 at 10:16 PM
That’s because you guys are OLDDDD

A.P.! Yeah, it’s true. I tried to grow one, but I have “bad hair”. Even a blowout couldn’t help me.
If/when you live long enough, you see styles come back around. My theory – it’s about a 25-year cycle.

awww yeah

shags were the joint. It’s what dudes were rocking right before the fade came out.

The story was a bit long to go over it all, but got general gist, then read the comments. People suck.
Speaking of shitty commenters, this comment is from last week.

depression therapy. you were discussing pretty openly earlier so thought it was ok to ask how it’s going. apologies if not
March 4th, 2013 at 10:45 PM
Probably the stuff you were dealing with a few months ago..
OT: griner had 50 points for baylor. She is one tall dude

Naw, it’s cool, just wasn’t sure if you meant electroconvulsive therapy still, because I was done with those sessions months ago, or when I went to stay at the hospital a couple months back.
I don’t think therapy in general is something I’ll just be ‘done’ with, although am moving some stuff around. Been doing DBT for 13 months now, which is 3 hours a day & 3 days a week, and since I’ve been there for so long, they finally said I’m allowed to go down to just 2 days a week. Then I have an individual therapist that I’ve seen for a few years, but only see him once every couple of weeks, so am going to be adding another individual therapist soon that will be every week.
So going down from 10 hours of therapy per week (plus travel times… I don’t own a car, so walking + bus lines can be an hour or two of travel per day) to something like 7 or 8 is nice.

congrats chief
all that walking…lose any weight or get really fit?
March 4th, 2013 at 11:12 PM
I don’t own a scale, but I’m probably under from when I was at the hospital in December, then I was 215 at 6’1″.

sorry. I watched “A Few Good Men” again last night.
Anyway, my sports heroes as a kid were O.J. Simpson (really), Tommie Agee and Ellis Valentine.
Now, I admire Bogart, after reading his bio. He had quite a journey, a lot of self-inflicted failure, but did alright in his career at the end.

In the 70′s his haircut was called, “a Shag”! It’s just another re-do on his hairdo.
