Agree that the regular season results are meaningless.

The regular season is far from meaningless. You just have to know what to read into the results and how things would play out in a series with breaks between games and fewer players being used. Spend more time focusing on that, and less time trying to troll about first round exits, and you’ll have more compelling points.

I’m going to echo what Jay V said. NY’s offense is ultimately only as good as Melo is on any given night and asking him to be great four times against an elite defensive team is a tall order.

I don’t think he has to be great against them for 4 games. The bigger concern for NY in regards to the Pacers is limiting the number of offensive rebounds they get.

I have no doubt that the series will/would be ugly, and I doubt that either team will break 100 in any single game (although the only team to break 100 in the season series is IND…to the tune of 125 just a cpl of weeks ago). But I would be a lot more concerned about the Knicks generating offense against the Pacers, than the converse.

Any series Indy plays in is going to be ugly, because that gives them the best opportunity to win. It’s what they tried to do against Miami last year. It looked more effective because the Heat were in the midst of adjusting to the loss of Bosh. But once Miami did adjust, the Pacers didn’t have the ability to respond in kind on the offensive end because of limitations. They’re in the same place, with or without Granger’s eventual return.

Remember when the Cavs were 2-0 vs. the Spurs in the regular season in 2007?

In 3 games, the Knicks have beaten the Heat by 20 twice, and even in the game they lost by 6 in which they were supposedly all of a sudden going to receive the Heat’s “best effort” they had leads of 16 and 14 points

Orlando has a ton of potential. Tobias Harris was a good pickup, and I like Vucevic in the middle.
