Dan Sileo Fired From Florida Sports Talk Radio a Year After Being Fired From Florida Sports Talk Radio
Dan Sileo has been fired yet again. The loudmouth former Miami Hurricane has been let go from his most recent job hosting a sports talk radio program on WQAM in Miami. This comes almost exactly one year after he was fired from WDAE in Tampa after he called some draft picks “monkeys.”
Sileo was suspended from WQAM in January after he got into it with Erin Andrews on Twitter with some sexist remarks about making dinner and her peephole incident. In September he went on a memorable and embarrassing rant following a Miami loss where he encouraged players to pull a knife or gauge an eye to show him they cared.

Estero, FL to be clear.
Believe it or not, their afternoon show there isn’t bad – Miller and Moulton. They don’t incite riots or berate points to death. This d-bag wouldn’t fit.

Le Batard loved having Sileo on the competing station because Sileo’s show was so terrible and Le Batard’s show kills it in the ratings.

I also hope JMac was being sarcastic when he tweeted that this is an “enormous, devastating loss to Florida Sports Talk Radio”.
To explain, in NY ratings terms, the difference in popularity, sponsorships, and attention: Sileo was like Stephen A Smith and Ryan Ruocco on ESPN 92.7 FM in NYC while Le Batard is like Mike Francesa. Ratings are constantly high for the DL show and he just buries all opposing stations in his time slot.

Here’s a YouTube schmo who thought Dan got a raw deal:

As for what led to Sileo’s departure at WQAM? From what I can tell, there might have been a mutiny: the morning host sounded like he was fed up with Sileo’s megativity about the heat (translation: he was no fan of their Harlem Shake). Here’s a composite of both of their shows on Friday:

Between that, his comments about female broadcasters, and his terrible ratings, it was a no-brainer
