Shaka Smart Delivered Pizza to Students Camping Out the Night Before VCU Crushed Butler

Shaka Smart and the unranked VCU Rams crushed the 20th-ranked Butler Bulldogs in Richmond on Saturday afternoon, 84-52. The night before the game, some Virginia Commonwealth students camped outside the Siegel Center hoping to get good seats for the game – likely in the #HAVOC section of the crowd. Smart brought the kids some pizza to say thanks. Sure, it appears to have been Papa John’s, but at least it was free. [image via @JayBilas]

So when does he leave VCU? And possible big time job openings next year?

He should have gotten them some beef patties and cocoa bread from the Jamaican spot across the street.

No shit. College basketball is a completely different bird than its football counterpart. Stay put, make the tournament every other year, cash nice sized checks, avoid health stress, and tell the world to fuck off at age 50 or 55.

Last year Illinois tried to hire him, offering him $2.5mm+/yr for 7 years, so apparently he’s not anxious to leave for money alone.
