Falobi Akanbi, a Montana State Football Recruit, Collapsed and Died While Playing Basketball

Falobi Akanbi, a 6′ 5″, 290-pound, 17-year-old Montana State recruit who attended Dawson High School in Pearland, Texas, collapsed while playing basketball after school on Wednesday afternoon. Friends attempted to perform CPR until an ambulance arrived. Akanbi was pronounced dead at Memorial Hermann Southeast Hospital. He had signed a letter of intent to play at Montana State earlier this month.

damn near went to montana state. financial aid papers went awry there but not at Idaho, so my fate was sealed that way

The NBA should pay for all the heart screens for anyone playing basketball. It’s the right thing to do. They can afford it.
