Brett Williams is a redshirt senior at North Carolina State and he’s your clubhouse leader for college baseball catch of the year. Williams, who missed last season after suffering a knee injury on opening day, made this incredible diving catch Wednesday in the Wolfpack’s 9-2 win over New Mexico State.
During the first round of the 2011 ACC Championship Williams made another diving catch. It didn’t feature a somersault at the end, but it did make SportsCenter.

college baseball post!

love it that the camera caught his route to cut off the ball. Hardly ever get to see this when watching an MLB game on TV.

Meh, ESPN top plays of the day give that an 8, right behind a college basketball teams’s mascot that dunks a ball during halftime.
Fock espn, that was a great catch and play.

might be my peeviest peeve in the sports world, right behind baggy baseball pants. the main reason it won’t be higher? because it’s college baseball and espn only cares come wichita time. the most difficult or clutch plays should be the only standard

Tim, you realize I was busting ESPN and not the link of the catch? That was a great play, thanks for posting.

That catch was incredible! The flip at the end demonstrates ridiculous body control that definitely earns him a 10. Agreed on the ESPN commentary. The best, most athletic plays should make the top 10 regardless of playground politics & popularity contests.
