I enjoy talking to people who I disagree with, but I don’t get much enjoyment in talking to people who I disagree with and who are unable to reply with anything but sneering disgust, soundbite friendly descriptives (Obamabots, for example), and platitudes based on the assumption that he is always right. Mike, who comes off as an otherwise very intelligent person, leaned on the above crutches and it became tiresome a long time ago. Ironically, the closest he seemed to get to having a genuine discussion without leaning on any of those tropes was just before the last election.

Hope he’s not gone. I enjoyed the conversation some of his comments brought out.

Half of Paolo’s comments came so late in the day on posts that people had already moved on from that they were not noticed until later. But Paolo’s comments were so ridiculously over the top that after awhile people just laughed at them and promptly forgot about them.
