No apologies necessary. Totally true. I have learned over the years of being married that if I ever have a need to argue with my husband I need to have facts and not get all worked up. He is much more quick witted than I am.

With apologies to the ladies here, men and women argue differently (duh). Ladies can & will use emotion as an argument technique, but men usually struggle in that area. At least, I do.

When she got argumentative or physically aggressive, I refrained from matching her emotion. She found herself disarmed immediately, since when we looked at the scenario realistically she realized she overreacted.

Unfortunately, the marriage didn’t last, but I kept the high ground. No way she could accuse me of threatening language or actions. And, law enforcement didn’t get involved.

thank god im not a cop…id want nothing to do with having to subdue a giant drunk like that.

No doubt. Usually cops have a numbers advantage though.
Speaking of which the wife was telling me that in Shandy Hook the cops who responded didn’t enter the school right away because they had a policy not to enter until they had 4 or more officers. Anyone else hear that? Reason it came up is where we live the first officer to the scene is to enter, regardless of numbers.

Yeah, we went through a milder version of it. Cadre instructors take what returnees/POWs have shared over the generations, flavored with some CIA-influenced info. Not as intense as what SEALs go through, but intended to give you an idea of how to respond & keep your poise.

Some physical stresses, some mental games. Funny how with a little sleep deprivation, the mind can play tricks on ya pretty quickly.

One scenario – I was subject of a resistance exercise (pre-Internet), and the interrogator had more info on me than I thought he should’ve. At one point I thought I had him stonewalled, and he pulled out a copy of my home base newspaper with my picture. Blew my cool, blew my cover. Went downhill from there in a hurry.
