Best Dunk In Virginia Tech History?
The ACC Digital Network is hosting Dunkuary, a month-long competition designed to get fans from all 12 ACC schools to vote for the best dunk in the ACC’s 60-year history.
The first Hokies dunk stars Deron Washington (2007) against Boston College. The BC defenders practically get out of his way as he soars down the lane for a one-handed slam.
Apparently Deron Washington was the best (only) dunker in Virginia Tech history because he is featured again in the second video. The only difference is he’s playing Georgia Tech, he has more hair and he gets cheers from the away crowd instead of the Hokie faithful.
Fans can vote for their favorite dunk in the following ways:
1. Tweet #dunkuary and #[player name]
2. Like your favorite dunk on www.youtube.com/accdn
3. Like your favorite dunk on www.facebook.com/theacc
Be sure to cast your vote and keep checking back here on Big Lead Sports to have your say in determining the ACC’s best dunk ever.

His best move was a layup where he jumped completely over Greg Paulus

I remember that. I was a student. We brought teabags to our next game against Duke…good times.
Deron was a bright spot in Hokie Basketball recent history. Those uniforms were atrocious though. Hard to believe that was 2007. Looks like 1996.
