Wreck at Daytona Produces Some Frightening Pictures

The Daytona 500 will be run today despite a terrifying Kyle Larson accident Saturday that tore a hole in the crash fence and sent debris flying into the stands, injuring 28 fans (two critically).
The images below display something a little more intense than what NASCAR officials were willing to discuss at their press conference, so before the Daytona 500 begins and Danica Patrick is all you hear about, take a look at how close some people came to losing their lives.

That cop pic there blocking the pic makes me think of the NASCAR Gestapo, not surprising. Nothing to see here, move along.

My best friend’s brother was there about 20 yards from where the tire hit. When he sends me the pictures I will try to get them posted. He was asked to bring another friend’s child down by the fencing with 5 laps to go but told the father it wasn’t a good idea because of the amount of people that start to get closer. Talk about a lot of luck. He said that everyone was just in a state of shock.

Very smart by your friend, that might have turned out badly. I hope no one is seriously injured for life because of their injuries from the debris.
